Lewis Hamilton has joined his girlfriend for the trip to the US, and will remain in the country for this weekend's US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.

Scherzinger reportedly aims to be back in the UK before Saturday's show (November 17) to support her acts Rylan Clark, Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur.

"She was devastated over her gran," a source said. "Her first instinct was to rush home, but she made a commitment to those boys and her family assured her she could fly on Monday."

During last week's show, Scherzinger told some acts that particular songs were poignant to her, and was seen crying during District3's performance of Eric Clapton's 'Tears in Heaven'.

The X Factor continues on Saturday (November 17) at 8pm on ITV1.
