Nicole Scherzingers X Factor Foul: 5 Reality TV JudgesThat Didnt Score Well with Viewers

Nicole Scherzinger had an "X Factor" foul!

By now you've likely heard the sad tale of Nicole Scherzinger.

The "X Factor" judge thought she was doing the right thing by letting last week's elimination vote fall in America's hands. But when 13-year old Rachel Crow was unexpectedly eliminated from the singing competition show, the backlash began.

Not only was a distraught Scherzinger booed by the audience, but angry fans called for her to be booted from the show.

Of course, Nicole Scherzinger isn't the first reality competition judge to take the heat for a controversial decision. Here are 5 more reality TV judges that haven't always scored well with viewers.

Johnny Weir - "Skating With The Stars"

Shouldn't judges be impartial? This short-lived series was a low rent "Dancing with the Stars" on ice, but where is Len Goodman when you need him? Judge Johnny Weir may know his skating moves, but he couldn't hide his frosty opinion of contestant Bethenny Frankel-and vice versa. The result was on-air friction that made the show hard to watch. Or maybe it was just the show.

Ellen DeGeneres- "American Idol"

America loves Ellen DeGeneres, but she should just stick to her day job. Her too-nice 'tude during her lone season as judge on "American Idol" left us with too many cutesy comments and bizarre banana references. Thankfully she's one smart cookie and knows when she's overstayed her welcome. DeGeneres left the show after one season and has since stuck to intervi! ewing re ality TV contestants instead of judging them.

Mary Murphy- "So You Think You Can Dance"

You have to be a real fan of Nigel Lythgoe's dance competition show to be able to stomach Mary Murphy's loud mouth and cackling laughter. She screams "Wooo!" so much that even fellow judge Lythgoe has been known to put headphones on to diffuse her. So you think you can lower the volume about ten notches, honey?

David Hasselhoff- "America's Got Talent"

America voted him out the first week during his season of "Dancing With the Stars" and in the same year David Hasselhoff lost his "America's Got Talent" judging gig to Howie Mandel. The Hoff didn't do much better in Britain, where he was a short-lived judge on "Britain's Got Talent." (He was replaced after one season.) Now, with his judging prospects scarce, doesn't he have a bay to watch?

Avril Lavigne- "American Idol"

Granted, she was only a guest judge during the auditions round back in 2010, but rocker Avril Lavigne's smug attitude made her the antithesis of Paula Abdul. The dream crusher made snide remarks during her short judging stint and assumed that she knew what was best for one wannabe contestant. ("It's hard out the! re on th e road," she said, as if he didn't already know that, before deciding that she knows what's best for him-- and it's not a career in the music biz.) These days, Avril sticks to dating reality stars instead of judging them.
