Lewis Hamilton buys 20m pounds jet to keep relationship with Nicole Scherzinger alive

London, Feb. 3 (ANI): Lewis Hamilton, who makes his living by driving super-fast cars, has spent 20 million pounds on an even speedier mode of transport: a private jet, to ease the strain of his long-distance relationship with girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger.

According to friends, the Formula 1 ace bought the blood-red Bombardier CL-600, which cruises at 500mph, to make travelling to see his girlfriend as easy as possible, the Daily Mail reported.

Hamilton, who lives in Monaco, and Scherzinger, who is based in Los Angeles split briefly in 2011, reportedly due to the pressure of spending so much time thousands of miles apart.

The 2008 world champion has given the jet a personal touch by changing the official registration to G-LCDH, which stands for Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton.

The former McLaren driver and 34-year-old Scherzinger, who started dating in 2007, have now joined an elite club of "super-celebrities," including Tom Cruise and Oprah Winfrey, who can afford a private jet. (ANI)
