Ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger recently opened up about her eating disorder and has now revealed that boyfriend Lewis Hamilton played a major part in her recovery process.

For the first time ever Nicole Scherzinger revealed she suffered from bulimia for several years, including at the height of her success with the Pussycat Dolls. She now says that Formula One racer Hamilton, 27, helped her accept herself and her body.

In an episode of VH1's Behind The Music, the singer and X-Factor judge, 34, said: [He] gave me the courage to kind of end that disorder and that disease. He made me feel beautiful for who I am and not what pant size I'm wearing and that helped a lot.

Nicole and Lewis have been dating in and off since 2008 and since then have built a solid relationship, as the Formula One star explained: "We are both passionate. Together we've created a great bond."

Nicole Scherzinger confessed that she hurt herself on a daily basis for years before finally deciding to put an end to it: "A little light came on in the back of my head and that's when I started to try and turn this around.

"I said, 'Wow, I've got to learn how to accept myself and my body.' I started to embrace myself as a woman and my curves."
