Nicole Scherzinger: 'X Factor Is Pleasant Without Simon Cowell Getting Under My Skin'

Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger joined The X Factor UK panel this year after a stint on the first season of The X Factor USA in 2011 alongside media mogul Simon Cowell.Now, Nicole has revealed that shes enjoying herself much more this year without the Syco boss sat by her side.

Nicole credited Simon with showing her the ropes on The X Factor: "I was with Simon last week. I went to school with Simon, he taught me what to do and that's how I started on this show.

According to The Sun, Nicole continued: "It's weird for him not to be there, getting under my skin, driving me nuts."

After enduring a fairly traumatic season on the US version of the TV talent show last year, which saw her burst into tears during the live shows, Nicole has explained that shes enjoying her experience in the UK so far.

Teamed with Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos on the UK panel this year, Nicole admitted: "I'm actually having a pleasant time on this show."

Referring to her emotional outbursts last year, Nicole explained: "Anyone who saw me in the US, will have seen that it's really hard for me to let people go.

"I'm an artist first and a judge second," she added.

Nicole is mentoring the boys category on this years show and will kick off the live shows this weekend with Jahmene Douglas, James Arthur and Rylan Clark.

She put the trio of solo singers through to the live shows during the judges houses round of the competition and is backing her wildcard act Adam Burridge to return to the contest following the public vote.

Speaking about eliminating acts, Nicole revealed: "I'm very empathetic to how they're feel! ing and I don't want to let them go. It breaks my heart to see them leave and it's the hardest part of the competition."
