Tulisa, Nicole Scherzinger deny 'fashion wars', 'X Factor' rift

Tulisa Contostavlos and Nicole Scherzinger have tried to block off tabloid rumours that they don't get along on The X Factor, insisting that there's no tension of "fashion wars" going on between them.

Speaking at yesterday's series nine launch, the two female stars paid tribute to each other and rubbished early rumours of a rift.

Female judges Tulisa Contostavlos and Nicole Scherzinger at The X Factor press launch held at the Corinthia Hotel.

"She's lovely and and always so graceful. She's great to work with," said Tulisa about her new co-star.

When asked about a potential fashion rivalry on the Live Shows, the Camden singer commented: "When it comes to fashion. I'm a bit more back to the roots, mixing the street vibe with the glam. I'm still finding myself.

"Nicole found herself a long while ago, she's found her fashion. You can see her coming out looking glam and I'll be trying to find myself."

Scherzinger added: "Tulisa's gorgeous and she just keeps it real. I like to switch it up a lot, so we'll have fun with it."

Louis Walsh joined in the praise for their newest addition to the X Factor panel, describing Scherzinger as a "star and a winner".

"She brings experience. She's been a Pussycat Doll, she won Dancing with the Stars, she's a singer, a dancer, she ticks all the boxes," said the Irish judge.

The X Factor series nine starts on Saturday, August 18 at 8pm on ITV1.
