Nicole Scherzinger was axed from Simon Cowell's U.S. version of "The X Factor" after one season, but the singer is now going to give "X Factor" judging a go on the U.K. edition.

The 33-year-old singer/actress, who has been a guest judge on the program before, will join Tulisa, Louis Walsh and Gary Barlow when "X Factor" returns across the pond later this summer.

"I'm so excited to join the U.K. X Factor family," Scherzinger tweeted Friday. "It's where I got my start, so it feels great to come full circle. I can't wait to see what talent the UK has to offer and to help inspire and bring out the best in these artists."

The former Pussycat Doll is replacing singer Kelly Rowland at the judges' table, a musical chairs scenario that Scherzinger isn't unfamiliar with.

Last summer, Scherzinger replaced Cheryl Cole as a judge on the stateside version of "The X Factor." But by January of this year she was let go, along with her fellow judge Paula Abdul and host Steve Jones.

Cowell and the other remaining judge, music exec L.A. Reid, have since replaced Scherzinger and Abdul with Demi Lovato and Britney Spears.
