Nicole Scherzinger has revealed how she keeps her body healthy and fit despite her hectic schedule.

The former Pussycat Doll appears on the cover of Shape's December issue in which she shared that her new motto is to stay active, to eat in moderation and to stop being so tough on herself.

"I eat - a lot!" she told Shape. "Even with my crazy schedule, I never skip meals. I'll often have soft-boiled eggs, smoked salmon, and whole-wheat toast for breakfast; cold cuts, veggies, and fruit for lunch; and usually chicken or fish with rice and more vegetables for dinner."

The singer went on to say that finding a balance and dancing is the key to staying fit.

Scherzinger, who revealed she started "jogging and counting calories" when she was 14 years old, shared: "I'm more accepting of my body and have learned to really embrace it. These days it's all about finding balance.

"When I'm getting ready for a tour or a video shoot, I throw myself full throttle into my work, and those extra 10 pounds just seem to melt off. I also have a resistance workout that does wonders for my arms and abs."

Scherzinger, who can be seen as one of the mentors on Fox's X Factor USA, recently delayed the release of her album Killer Love for the second time.
