Nicole Scherzinger will not split from boyfriend Lewis Hamilton after the racing driver spent hours apologising for his 5am champagne fuelled penthouse party.

Lewis, 27, told the new X Factor nothing happened when he partied with a horde of girls in a Mayfair hotel and spent hours pleading with her for forgiveness.

Pictures of Lewis and rapper J. Cole before heading back to London's May Fair Hotel with the party -were said to have left Nicole 'angry and embarrassed' over the normally straight-laced Hamilton's behaviour.

The McLaren driver, 27, hardly drinks, and unlike the infamous F1 drivers of yesteryear, is rarely seen on the party scene.

A friend told The Sun Nicole 'tore strips' off her on-off boyfriend but added: 'They are not breaking up, both are committed to making the relationship work.

'Nicole was very upset Lewis allowed himself to be put in such a position - because he should know what people would say.

'But she accepts nothing happened.'

Claudia Martinez and Emily Tudor, who were among the guests invited back to the hotel, revealed to The Sun that Lewis was having so much fun at the penthouse suite in the venue he even sprayed the walls with champagne.

Emily ! said: 'I t was huge, there was a kitchen, two bathrooms, two bedrooms and a huge lounge. Lots of people were chilling in the main room, people were smoking on the balcony.

'At one point, Lewis was spraying champagne all over the room like he had just won a race.'

Nicole - who is currently in Los Angeles - is at present readying herself for her new role as a judge on the UK version of the X Factor.

The couple have struggled at times to make their long-distance relationship work because of Hamilton's jet-set lifestyle as a Formula One driver.

Earlier this week Hamilton raised eyebrows after he was seen kissing a woman, later revealed as old friend Phreeda Sharp.

He tweeted soon after: 'Phreeda is like my sister, a good mate to me n Nicole. Can't say goodbye 2 friends without it being seen as a mystery kiss.'

The Formula One champion was last pictured with his on/off girlfriend on June 30 when they celebrated her 34th birthday in London.
